France wins 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival

With an outstanding performance themed “Lighting up love”, the team from France convinced the judges and audiences to deserve victory in the final round of the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) on July 8.

The final round was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, among others.

Speaking at the opening of the final round, Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee said the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival would close, but the city's dreams and aspirations will continue to be nurtured and spread. “We will constantly make greater efforts for the citizens’ happiness, the city’s prosperous and safe development, and a harmonious and sustainable living environment alongside nature”.

With excellent firework displays, the final round of the DIFF 2023 conquered even the most demanding of audiences. The French and Italian teams brought a perfect ending to DIFF 2023. The night sky of Da Nang shone in a feast of light and music and picturesque fireworks displayed a truly connected people in a "world without distance" as was the theme of the festival.

The Italian team introduced a performance entitled “"The Power of Arts" that once again lit up the artist's inspiration in the sky of Da Nang, creating connections among people from all over the world and encouraging people to overcome the pain caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The performance of Italy:

Like the piano piece “River Flow In You” that the Italian team chose, all the viewers were immersed in the "flow" of the Han River as giant fireworks exploded in the background to the vibrant rock tune of the song “Gossip” and the EDM version of “Wake Me Up” and the classic soundtrack of all time “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. In addition, the Italian team chose the song "Vietnam trong toi la” (Vietnam in me) to express their love for the country and people of Vietnam in general and Da Nang City in particular.

Damiano Baraldo, the captain of the Italian team said the arts play an important role in supporting and inspiring people to overcome the unprecedented difficult times and Italy wished to bring the arts to the festival as well as enhance the connections and shorten the distance between people through this performance.

Meanwhile, the French team gave a performance entitled “Lighting up love”, featuring spectacular fireworks displays on the background of romantic, noisy, vibrant and youthful songs.

The viewers constantly swayed to the beat of the music while listening to BTS's “Dynamite” or Lady Gaga's “Stupid Love”, and then immersed themselves in sweet emotions with the remixed love song “La vie en rose” and enjoyed the majestic song “Non, je ne regrette rien”. The song “Bay” (Flying) by Vietnamese singer Thu Minh were also included in the performance.

Edouard Gregoire, the French team’s captain, said light up the world without distance, they chose stories about love because love exists in different forms as we are nothing without love.

With completely convincing performances, the French team was awarded the championship trophy and awards worth a total of 20,000 USD.

The “Creative Award” went to the Polish team and the “Most Favourite” Prize was presented to the Finnish team.

During the DIFF, flights to Da Nang International Airport sometimes reached 150 flights per day, an increase of 1.5 times compared to the average.
