This distinguished event will feature concertmaster Chuong Vu alongside two talented young pianists, Nguyen Duc Kien and Luu Danh Khoi.
Under the baton of Nayden Todorov, Music Director of the National Opera House of Bulgaria, the ensemble will present seminal works by two of Western music’s most revered composers – Chopin and Rimsky-Korsakov.
The first half of the programme will immerse the audience in the profound, delicate, and emotionally rich musical world of Frédéric Chopin, through two of his celebrated piano concertos – Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 and Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21.
Composed in Chopin’s early twenties, these works epitomise his romantic musical language – aesthetically refined, passionately expressive, and deeply lyrical.
The latter half of the programme will showcase one of the most dazzling masterpieces of Russian nationalism – Capriccio Espagnol, Op. 34, by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
This symphonic gem blends vibrant orchestral colours with inspiration from Spanish folk music, providing the orchestra with an opportunity to demonstrate their virtuosity through each movement, characterised by a striking performative flair and festive exuberance.
