Honoured to be chosen as the venue for the ceremony, parade and march marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (A80), the entire political system and people of the capital have joined in, not only with a sense of responsibility but also with great pride. Thanks to this, preparations of the city have now been essentially completed, ready for the nation’s Grand Celebration.

Nguyen Van Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee, said that from the moment the A80 task was assigned, the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee’s Standing Board has asked all levels and sectors to take the initiative and shoulder responsibilities. This directive is entirely correct, with the city’s preparations on schedule overall. Tasks relating to security and order, logistics, health, electricity network, urban order and environmental sanitation have been planned meticulously, with specific assignments for implementation.

The Ha Noi Police Department has proactively built a comprehensive plan, conducted field surveys and thoroughly assessed the situation. The unit has mobilised maximum forces and equipment, closely coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defence, and municipal departments and sectors to ensure absolute safety for all commemorative activities.

During recent rehearsal days, Ha Noi’s traffic police have mobilised maximum forces to control and regulate traffic, ensuring smooth flows and preventing congestion in key areas. At junctions and major routes leading to Ba Dinh Square, traffic police and local police have been on duty to regulate traffic from afar regardless of rain or heat. Functional forces promptly handled any arising issues relating to urban order or environmental sanitation.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of Director of Hanoi City Police Department, emphasised that A80 is an important political mission, associated with the honor and pride of every officer and soldier of the Capital Police.

“This is also an opportunity for the Capital Police force to continue training, maturing, and building the image of capital police officers, who are courageous, humane, and devoted to serving the people,” said Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung.

To create favourable conditions for people and visitors to attend rehearsals, the Ha Noi Transport Management and Operation Centre has made detailed plans to support the people’s travelling. From August 30 to September 2, 128 subsidised bus routes, two urban railway lines, and nearly 200 parking areas, will serve people free of charge.

Ha Noi Metro has increased train frequency on its two elevated railway lines, extended operating hours, and organised passenger flows at key stations. The leadership of Ha Noi Metro has directly been present on-site to oversee and coordinate with staff to ensure safe, smooth and civilised service.

According to Vo Nguyen Phong, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, the city has prepared sufficient essential supplies for distribution. Over 830,000 cakes, nearly one million bottles of water, more than 220,000 boxes of milk, and over 200,000 bottles of other beverages have been mobilised, exceeding the planned target. Tens of thousands of items such as hats, paper fans, raincoats and handheld flags are also prepared. Plans for distribution of essential supplies have been clearly assigned.

Along the 10km parade route, the Ha Noi Youth Union is in charge of receiving and distributing supplies for delegates and people at 67 points.

We consider this as an opportunity to contribute our youth to a historic event of the country. Therefore, we are all preparing with readiness and the best health to fulfil every assigned task,”

Not only in the city centre and departments, but localities, especially areas along the parade route, have also been ready to serve the grand celebration.

Phu Thuong Ward will open its community cultural house and cultural, sports and information centre to welcome people and visitors to the capital for A80. The centre will also provide essential supplies such as food, drinks, accommodations, toilets and raincoats for people.

Wards including Ngoc Ha, Van Mieu–Quoc Tu Giam, Giang Vo and Ba Dinh, which the parade passes, have also prepared large quantities of essential supplies such as raincoats, chairs, drinking water and bread for distribution. Thousands of officials, civil servants and volunteers are taking part in to support people and functional forces to carry tasks.

Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy General Director of Ha Noi Urban Environment Company Limited, said that 100% of staff had been mobilised, closely coordinated with ward people’s committees and the police force to collect waste early, avoiding times of road closures.

“The Central Agency has entrusted us, and the whole country is looking towards the capital. Therefore, the city must not only work with the highest responsibility but also with the full dedication and affection of the capital and the nation. This is the time for all levels, sectors, and every Hanoian to demonstrate their elegance, civility and solidarity, affirming the glory of the Ho Chi Minh era,” Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai stressed.
