Running from November 17-28 at various sites throughout the capital city, the festival focused on three themes: design, community and creativity.

During the 12-day festival, there were more than 60 cultural activities, 20 exhibitions, 19 seminars, and 12 arts and community events held at the Gia Lam Train Factory, Hang Dau Water Tower, Long Bien Station and Gia Lam Station.

There were also over 40 cultural activities and events organised by local authorities with the participation of 200 agencies, creators and artists.

This year’s festival was a great success beyond expectations with the participation of hundreds of thousands of visitors.

The Gia Lam Train Factory — the centre of the festival — attracted 200,000 visitors, while the Hang Dau Water Tower saw 30,000 visitors. The organisers also sold up to 26,000 tickets to visitors for four heritage trains running between Hanoi Station and Gia Lam Station.

The festival has exerted a widespread impact, raising public awareness, and gathered artists, designers and creators towards building a creative city.

This is the foundation for Hanoi to organise the Creative Design Festival with a larger scale and greater impacts in the future.

At the closing ceremony, the organisers honoured localities, units, organisations, and individuals with contributions to the success of the festival.
