Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women’s Union, Le Kim Anh expressed her hope that the messages from the programme will spread to the 30 districts and 579 communes and wards in Hanoi so that women and children can live in love and enjoy comprehensive development.
The event is also an activity in response to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 2022 (November 25), to call on the community to build a safe and friendly city and prevent violence and abuse against women and children.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women’s Union Le Kim Anh, emphasised that ensuring gender equality and building a safe and healthy living environment is one of the important tasks of the city, and the Hanoi Women’s Union has actively coordinated with relevant agencies to carry out communication activities and training courses, raising awareness with people on domestic violence prevention and combat abuse of women and children.
She noted that many practical models have been implemented by the Hanoi Women’s Union to prevent violence, such as the establishment of an advisory council to address social issues related to women, the establishment of legal advisory groups, the establishment of groups namely “Men speak up”, “Men accompanies for the safety of women and children”, and “Families say no to violence”, and others.
