Ho Chi Minh City leaders meet revolutionary veterans

The Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, held a meeting on December 21 with retired military cadres on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944-2022).

Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, expressed his sincere gratitude for the sacrifices and noble contributions of the Vietnam People’s Army during the past time.

The image of a heroic military force in battle and creative bravery in peacetime is a beautiful image in the eyes and hearts of the people, he said.

He hoped that the military force would continue to be a solid fulcrum for the city's political system and people, and continue to unite and work together in overcoming difficulties and challenges, to complete the set targets in 2023.

On behalf of the city's armed forces, Colonel Nguyen Tuan Bao, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command, emphasised that the city's armed forces have promoted the spirit of proactiveness, creativity, and solidarity, and tried to overcome all difficulties and completed assigned tasks.
