Speaking at the programme, Phan Hong An, Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, said that in recent times, policies on social insurance and health insurance have continued to be widely communicated, helping people to clearly understand their rights, participate in the social insurance and health insurance programmes, and enjoy full benefits, while the quality of medical examination, treatment, and healthcare services has been increasingly improved. These policies have also received public support, contributing to the building of a sustainable and progressive social security system, towards the goal of universal health insurance coverage by 2030.

Implementing the movement on “Joining hands for the poor, leaving no one behind” with a spirit of compassion, solidarity, and readiness to share, the programme has so far received support from many organisations, businesses, and individuals, with total mobilised funding of more than 3 billion VND.

At the programme, city leaders presented 100 health insurance cards and 100 Tet gifts to disadvantaged people in Ho Tram Commune.

Gia Dinh People’s Hospital dispatched a delegation of doctors and medical staff to conduct medical check-ups for a number of local people.

Previously, on the afternoon of January 10, the Standing Board of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also organised a programme in coordination with the Social Security Agency, the Farmers’ Association of the city, and Gia Dinh People’s Hospital to present health insurance cards and Tet gifts 2026 to people in Tan Vinh Loc Commune.

On the occasion, Gia Dinh People’s Hospital sent a medical team to provide health check-ups, blood pressure measurements, general internal and surgical consultations, free medicines, and guidance on healthcare and disease prevention for a number of local people.
