Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the municipal National Assembly delegation, chaired the conference.
Since July 1, under the two-tier local government model, the Ho Chi Minh City NA delegation has carried out numerous practical activities. The delegation leadership has directed the drafting of internal regulations for the delegation and its office; developed coordination plans and citizen reception rules; organised citizen reception sessions; instructed the preparation of the 15th-tenure summary report and agreed on task allocations for the delegation’s leadership and office heads.
The leadership has also worked with the Standing Board of the municipal People’s Council, the Standing Board of the municipal People’s Committee, and the municipal Standing Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee to exchange and agree on directions and coordination for upcoming activities, aiming to improve the delegation’s effectiveness and contribute to the city’s overall development.
From now until March 2026, the delegation will focus on organising law-making consultations, proactively and promptly planning conferences to gather public input on draft laws; closely coordinating with agencies, organisations, localities, and units to collect feedback to improve draft laws; and paying attention to oversight and surveys, continuing to carry out thematic supreme supervision tasks.
In terms of public petitions and communications, the delegation will organise voter meetings as regulated; arrange regular citizen receptions by National Assembly deputies; promptly handle petitions, complaints, denunciations, and feedback from citizens; and coordinate in disseminating the Party’s guidelines and the State’s new policies and laws to voters and the public.
Additionally, the delegation will organise events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first general election of the Viet Nam National Assembly and hold the 15th-tenure summary conference of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation in August 2025. It will also coordinate with relevant agencies and units to effectively participate in the elections of the 16th-tenure National Assembly deputies and People’s Council deputies at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, in accordance with regulations.
In his speech at the event, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City NA delegation Nguyen Van Loi requested that the delegation focus on implementing the approved contents, programmes, and plans to ensure the completion of all work in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. He also urged the deputies to uphold their sense of responsibility and fully engage in all approved activities, especially those related to citizen reception, voter meetings, surveys, and supervision.
Under the context of administrative unit consolidation and expansion of development space, Nguyen Van Loi emphasised the city should consider which specific mechanisms or policies required to fully realise its potential and prospects after the consolidation and under the two-tier government model. He called on the deputies to focus their research and present official opinions at upcoming National Assembly sessions.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City NA delegation expressed gratitude and presented flowers to former delegation leaders who have retired or transferred to new positions.
