Thousands of Buddhist followers and residents across Ho Chi Minh City gathered at Phap Hoa Pagoda in District 3, on the evening of May 9 (the 12th day of the fourth lunar month), to release flower lanterns into the Nhieu Loc–Thi Nghe Canal, in celebration of Vesak 2569. The annual lantern release has become a cherished spiritual tradition for the city's Buddhist community.
