Ha Noi Poetry Day 2026 was organised by the Ha Noi Union of Literature and Arts and the Ha Noi Writers’ Association under the direction of the Municipal Party Committee and the People’s Committee. The opening ceremony was held on the morning of March 1.
In his opening remarks, poet Tran Gia Thai, Chairman of the Ha Noi Writers’ Association, emphasised that the event was held in the context of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on developing Vietnamese culture, reflecting progress in theoretical thinking and the Party’s leadership methods in the cultural sphere, and meeting the requirements of elevating culture to match the stature of Vietnamese culture in the new era.
Assoc Prof, Dr, and musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Literature and Arts, said Ha Noi Poetry Day 2026 further highlighted the cultural traditions of Trang An people, reminding everyone to cherish and preserve the Vietnamese language — a language that conveys aspirations for peace and love for the Fatherland, compatriots, and colleagues.
The programme featured three main segments: “Nguyen Tieu Poems”, “Love for Seas and Islands”, and “Spring Sentiments of Ha Noi.”
Alongside the core programme, a variety of activities were held, including poetry performance contests by members of the Ha Noi Writers’ Association and poetry booth display competitions by capital-based poetry clubs and press units under the Ha Noi Union of Literature and Arts.
