The programme also saw the presence of Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s External Relations Commission; Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Mai Van Chinh, Head of the PCC’s Mass Mobilisation Commission; Le Khanh Hai, Head of the Office of the President; Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee; Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defence; and about 1,500 overseas Vietnamese and their relatives from all over the world returning home to celebrate Tet.
