The number of employees working in industrial enterprises as of August 1, 2022, has also increased at an impressive rate (23.2%) compared to the same period in 2021.
The General Statistics Office of Vietnam has just announced that in August alone, the IIP is estimated to have increased by 2.9% compared to the previous month and 15.6% over the same period last year, in which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 16.2%.
Since the beginning of the year, the IIP index in 61 localities has increased over the same period in 2021.
Several key industrial products in the eight months have increased sharply compared to the same period last year, including: beer, up 31.2%; processed seafood, up 20.7%; phone components, up 19.6%; automobiles, up 13.9%; casual wear, up 12.7%; leather shoes and sandals, up 12.5%; and tobacco, up 9.6%.
Also, according to the General Statistics Office, the number of employees working in industrial enterprises as of August 1, 2022, increased by 0.6% compared to the same period last month and 23.2% year on year.
In which, non-state enterprises increased by 0.7% compared to the same period last month and 20.1% year on year; foreign-invested enterprises increased by 1.5% compared to the same period last month and 27.1% year on year.
