Co-organised by Ha Noi Medical University Hospital, Da Nang Hospital, and member hospitals, the conference aims to strengthen professional collaboration, update participants on the latest advances in modern medicine, and improve the quality of healthcare services.
The event serves as a major scientific forum, bringing together leading specialists, researchers, and physicians from Viet Nam and abroad — including participants from Thailand, Taiwan (China), Japan, and China — as well as representatives of prestigious hospitals and universities.
Opening the conference, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee, said that developing high-quality healthcare has always been one of the city's strategic priorities. She stressed that investment in healthcare is not only an investment in social welfare but also a vital foundation for sustainable development.
She noted that the city has consistently created favourable conditions for healthcare institutions to expand international cooperation, adopt advanced scientific and technological achievements, develop a highly skilled medical workforce, and build a modern healthcare system, thereby gradually strengthening Da Nang's position as one of the leading specialised medical centres in the Central Highlands and central Viet Nam.
Under the overarching theme "Evidence-based medicine from multidimensional perspectives", the conference features nearly 200 presentations, including keynote lectures, scientific reports, satellite symposia, live case demonstrations, a competition for outstanding young presenters, and a wide range of specialist discussion sessions.
One of the conference's highlights is a series of Live Case sessions broadcast directly from operating theatres and interventional suites. These showcase advanced procedures such as Da Vinci robotic urological surgery, CORI robotic-assisted knee replacement, endoscopic spinal surgery, interventions for congenital heart disease, complex coronary artery interventions, and a range of other specialised techniques currently performed at leading hospitals across Viet Nam.
As a co-organiser, Da Nang Hospital is contributing 31 scientific presentations, including two live surgical or interventional demonstrations, and 29 research reports.
On the occasion, the Da Nang People's Committee presented a certificate of merit to Dr Tsai Chien-Sung, former Director of Tri-Service General Hospital in Taiwan (China), in recognition of his contributions to medical cooperation and professional development.
The conference will run until August 2.
