The 16th annual Japanese Film Festival in Vietnam will showcase 11 popular Japanese films across Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and Hanoi from November 1 to December 28.

Organised by the Japan Foundation, the festival aims to bring Japanese cinema closer to Vietnamese audiences. Since its inception over 16 years ago, this cultural event has grown in popularity, consistently sharing remarkable Japanese films with Vietnamese moviegoers.

The festival kicks off with Godzilla Minus One, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the iconic sci-fi monster franchise.

Also featured is Akira, a groundbreaking anime film that paved the way for Japan’s global animation industry, alongside two other beloved animated films: Sand Land, adapted from the manga by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, and HAIKYUU!! The Dumpster Battle, a top-rated sports anime.

For drama enthusiasts, films like ‘Evil Does Not Exist’, ‘Mom?!’, ‘All the Long Nights’, and ‘Loved Like a Flower Bouquet’ will be compelling selections.

Ho Chi Minh City: November 1–16 at Galaxy Nguyen Du

Da Nang: November 22–24 at Galaxy Da Nang - Coop Mart

Hai Phong: December 6–8 at Galaxy Hai Phong - Nguyen Kim

Hanoi: December 13–28 at the National Cinema Centre

Tickets are available at a flat rate of 50,000 VND per screening.
