The five-day course aimed to strengthen maritime law enforcement capacity through lectures and practices for on-site inspections of incoming ships, onboard search and initial investigation when detecting prohibited goods, as well as information collection activities to detect potential criminals.

On the last day of the training course, the participants paid a courtesy visit to the High Command of Vietnam Coast Guard in Hanoi.

During the reception for the delegation, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, Colonel Vu Trung Kien, highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation with JICA, particularly JICA’s training programme for Vietnam’s coast guards.

He expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to implement more training programmes in the coming time.
