The Vietnamese delegation comprised representatives from Lao Cai International Border Gate as well as the Bat Xat, Muong Khuong, and Pha Long border guard stations. The talks were conducted in a sincere, friendly, and constructive atmosphere.

During the talks, the two sides conducted a comprehensive review of the outcomes and experience gained through bilateral cooperation since the second quarter of 2026. They noted that border security and public order has been effectively maintained through close coordination in border gate management, strict control of official border crossings and auxiliary crossing points, and the proper implementation of immigration inspection procedures for travellers and vehicles. In regards to combating cross-border crime, both sides have worked closely together to detect and promptly prevent illegal activities across the border.

Building on these achievements, the two sides agreed on a number of forward-looking measures to deepen cooperation. These include streamlining administrative procedures at border crossings through the digitalisation of customs and immigration procedures, expanding public awareness campaigns, promoting fast-track clearance mechanisms, and introducing digital immigration documentation for residents living in the Viet Nam–China border areas.

They also agreed to actively advance the comprehensive implementation of a mutual no-entry-exit stamp mechanism for registered cross-border freight drivers, with the aim of significantly reducing customs clearance times for cargo vehicles.

Both sides pledged to maintain close coordination in facilitating cross-border visits by citizens for family reunions, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, thereby supporting the Viet Nam–China Tourism Cooperation Year. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation under the model of "jointly building friendly border guard stations and harmonious border gates", while enhancing information sharing on border clearance operations, monitoring traffic flows, and providing early warnings on passenger and vehicle volumes at border crossings.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular consultation mechanisms, jointly studying and promptly resolving issues arising during implementation, and working together to build a peaceful, friendly, stable, and mutually beneficial Viet Nam–China border.
