Technology brings heritage closer to the public

Light Symphony 2025 was not just a performance event—it was a seamless integration of music, light, technology, and heritage, offering a multi-dimensional artistic experience in the heart of Hanoi.

With the participation of artists from various generations, the programme created a space where classical, contemporary folk, and modern music converged, delivering a spectacular experience to over 80,000 live attendees and 120,000 online viewers.

The highlight of the event was Vietnam’s first drone light show, perfectly synchronized with a symphony orchestra. A fleet of 2025 drones reimagined Hanoi’s iconic landmarks such as the Khue Van Pavilion, Nhan Dan Newspaper in the night sky over West Lake.

Particularly striking were the majestic Ly Dynasty Dragon and the evocative imagery of Hanoi’s 36 Old Quarters, showcasing how technology can creatively and modernly breathe life into heritage.

Light Symphony and the role of cultural industries

In recent years, Hanoi has identified cultural industries as a cornerstone for sustainable economic growth. According to Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU by the Hanoi Party Committee, leveraging culture should go beyond preservation to explore new approaches that maximize heritage values.

Light Symphony 2025 vividly illustrates this trend, as the event not only celebrated art but also contributed to economic value through cultural tourism, the night economy, and creative arts.

More than just an event, Light Symphony 2025 marked a transformative step for Hanoi in applying technology to enhance heritage values and develop cultural industries. The event proved that when art transcends traditional spaces and becomes an integral part of the urban landscape, culture is amplified to its fullest potential.

With appropriate policy support and collaboration among the government, businesses, and creative communities, Hanoi can continue to leverage its heritage to generate long-term economic and artistic values. In doing so, not only Light Symphony but the entire city could become an unlimited creative stage, where art, technology, and heritage shine together on the global map.

Light Symphony 2025 embodies the innovative spirit of Hanoi—a city poised to lead in the harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity, bringing its cultural treasures closer to the world.
