The programme took place in a lively atmosphere, featuring a colourful space of booths for cultural exchange, Republic of Korea (RoK)–Viet Nam cuisine, hanbok experiences, quizzes on Viet Nam– RoK culture, a kimbap-making contest, Korean drum painting, and more. Through these activities, pupils and students were able to explore first-hand distinctive features of culinary and artistic culture, while gaining a deeper understanding of the Republic of Korea’s traditional cultural values.

Assoc Prof Dr Dinh Thanh Viet, Vice Rector of Dong A University, said that the number of pupils and students who are interested in, or currently studying, the Korean language in Da Nang, and at the university in particular, has been steadily increasing.

For foreign-language learners, understanding culture helps deepen language comprehension, enables more effective communication, develops intercultural thinking, and prepares for international integration.

This is a large-scale Viet Nam–RoK cultural exchange programme for a wide range of pupils and students who love Korean language and culture, and it is being held for the second time in 2025.

Within the framework of the programme, a thematic seminar titled “Studying in the RoK and the Korean Government Scholarship Programme — Getting it right to win it” was also held.

Cho Sang Geun, a representative from the Korean Language Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, said that while the number of schools in the Da Nang area where the Korean Language Centre in Ho Chi Minh City provided Korean-language teaching stood at only 17 in 2024, this year it has expanded to 25 schools and is being implemented effectively.

Dr Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, Rector of Dong A University, noted that for many years the university has consistently prioritised expanding educational cooperation with countries that have advanced education systems.

Among them, the RoK is one of its leading strategic partners, with numerous student exchange programmes, international summer camps, study-transfer pathways, and scholarships that have been and continue to be implemented.
