The programme took place at the Cultural Place in Hoa Binh province, Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, Dai Doan Ket Square in Gia Lai province, Zone 9 historical relic site in U Minh Thuong district, Kien Giang province and Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City.
Many senior leaders attended the event including Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Le Hong Anh, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee Dinh The Huynh, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan among others.
The 170-minute programme was carefully orchestrated with song and dance performance, and a variety show, among other events which vividly depicted the 70 years of fighting and construction of the Vietnam's People's Police Force.
The programme also honoured collectives and individuals contributing to the movement on protecting the national security in wartime and peacetime.
The highlight of the event was exchanges with historical witnesses who joined the resistance war against the US and those who have directly participated in solving serious crimes in peacetime.
The event was held by the Ministry of Public Security in co-ordination with the municipal People's Committees of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoa Binh, Gia Lai and Kien Giang.
