Covering an area of nearly 5,600 square metres in Phuoc Thoi Ward, O Mon District, the project consists of a main building (a ground floor and seven upper storeys), necessary equipment and ancillary items.
The construction of the 200-bed hospital began in September 2010 with a total investment of VND215.3 billion (US$9.6 million).
The hospital is expected to meet the needs for tuberculosis and lung disease examination and treatment of locals in Can Tho as well as other provinces in the Mekong River Delta region.
According to Director of Can Tho City’s Department of Health Doctor Bui Thi Le Phi, the operation of the hospital will contribute to strengthening and improving the health network in the city.
In addition, local patients to the hospital will be served with advanced and modern medical services.
