On the afternoon of October 10, the Ministry of Public Security held the 3rd National Online Conference on Digital Transformation and reviewed 2 years of implementing Plan 377 on digitising records and documents on the People's Public Security force.
In the first 9 months of 2024, 55.8 million online records were received, reaching a rate of more than 98% (an increase of more than 13% compared to 2023). The Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security ranks 2nd out of 21 ministries and sectors. For essential public services, about 3,500 billion VND is saved annually.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Digital Transformation and Project 06 of the Ministry of Public Security, announced that internally, the public security sector has promoted administrative procedure reform and legal perfection; researched and proposed the development of many laws, circulars, and decrees, ensuring sufficient legal basis for effective implementation of the Law on Identification; built, created, connected, and exploited data to ensure “correctness, sufficiency, cleanliness, and liveness” is applied in all fields and life, contributing to socio-economic development.
Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that the Public Security of units and localities is focused on creating data, resources, and important means of production for the new era. It is also focused on completing the development of the National Database managed by the Ministry of Public Security, featuring details such as: National Population Database, National Immigration Database, and Cyberspace Database; and urgently deploying the Ministry of Public Security Data Centre. Thereby, providing information, a platform for integrating and sharing data, and completing the integration and sharing of shared data in 2024.
