1. To examine draft laws, ordinances and resolutions of the National Assembly and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly concerning referendums, the implementation of grassroots democracy, citizen reception, settlement of complaints, denunciations, petitions and reflections of citizens, supervision activities, and other reports, draft projects and schemes within the fields under its responsibility or assigned by the National Assembly or the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.
2. To take the lead in examining reports of the Government, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy and the State Audit Office regarding the implementation of resolutions of the National Assembly and resolutions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on thematic supervision and questioning.
3. To supervise the implementation of the Constitution, laws and resolutions of the National Assembly, ordinances and resolutions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly; to supervise the activities of the Government, ministries, ministerial-level agencies, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy and the State Audit Office in the fields under the Committee’s responsibility; to take the lead in supervising the settlement of complaints, denunciations, petitions and reflections of citizens sent to the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and agencies of the National Assembly.
4. To supervise legal normative documents issued by the Government, the Prime Minister, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, the Procurator General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office in the fields under the Committee’s responsibility.
5. To make recommendations on matters relating to the organisation and improvement of the effectiveness of the National Assembly’s supervision activities; on the settlement of complaints, denunciations, petitions and reflections of citizens; on necessary measures to protect the lawful rights and interests of citizens; and on issues related to the organisation and operation of relevant agencies and other matters within the fields under the Committee’s responsibility.
6. To submit draft laws and draft resolutions to the National Assembly, and draft ordinances and draft resolutions to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in the fields under the Committee’s responsibility.
7. To perform other tasks as assigned by the National Assembly and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.
