1. To examine draft laws, ordinances, and resolutions of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee in the fields of culture, belief, religion, education, information, communications, tourism, sports, labour, employment, health, population, social security, gender equality, emulation and commendation, prevention and control of social evils, policies concerning the elderly, youth, and children, and other reports, projects, and proposals within the fields under its responsibility or as assigned by the National Assembly or the National Assembly Standing Committee.
2. To examine the integration of gender equality issues in draft laws, ordinances, and resolutions before they are submitted to the National Assembly or the National Assembly Standing Committee.
3. To supervise the implementation of the Constitution, laws, and resolutions of the National Assembly, and ordinances and resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee; to supervise the activities of the Government, ministries, and ministerial-level agencies in implementing policies on culture, religion, education, information, communications, tourism, sports, labour, employment, health, population, social security, gender equality, emulation and commendation, and the prevention and control of social evils; and to supervise the implementation of policies concerning the elderly, youth, and children, and other matters within the fields under the Committee’s responsibility.
4. To supervise legal normative documents issued by the Government, the Prime Minister, ministers, and heads of ministerial-level agencies in the fields under the Committee’s responsibility.
5. To make recommendations on issues relating to policies on culture, belief, religion, education, information, communications, tourism, sports, labour, employment, health, population, social security, gender equality, emulation and commendation, prevention and control of social evils, policies concerning the elderly, youth, and children, issues related to the organisation and operation of relevant agencies, and other matters within the fields under the Committee’s responsibility.
6. To submit draft laws and resolutions to the National Assembly, and draft ordinances and resolutions to the National Assembly Standing Committee in the fields under the Committee’s responsibility.
7. To perform other duties as assigned by the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
