NA Chairman attends opening ceremony for Ha Nam Culture-Tourism Week 2023

Chairman of National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue attended the opening ceremony for Ha Nam Culture-Tourism Week 2023, which was held at the Tam Chuc scenic landscape complex in Kim Bang District, in the northern province of Ha Nam, on May 14.

The event was part of activities in response to the celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties. The event also drew Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio.

On the occasion, NA Chairman Hue presented the decisions to certify the national treasure title to stone stele of Giau Pagoda and Tien Noi 1 bronze drum of Ha Nam.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong also handed over to Ha Nam the decisions to recognise four destinations of Ha Nam as national-level historical relic sites.

The Ha Nam Culture – Tourism Week 2023 will feature 12 unique cultural, sports and tourism activities, contributing to not only attracting visitors to Ha Nam but also creating favourable conditions for investors to seek more investment opportunities for tourism development in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee Truong Quoc Huy emphasised that Ha Nam aimed the event at honouring the beauty of traditional culture, the close and strong friendship between the two countries, as well as that between Ha Nam and localities in Japan.

Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio highlighted the cultural linkages between Vietnam and Japan while appreciating Ha Nam’s strict implementation of its commitments to Japanese investors.

At the ceremony, artists from Japan performed Kyogen, the first comedy genre in Japan with a long tradition of 650 years. It was recognised by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage. Vietnamese and Japanese artists also gave traditional art performances of each country.
