Presenting a brief report on the association’s achievements, Pham Thanh Tinh, Chairman of the Southeast Asian Research Association of Viet Nam, said that over its 30 years of establishment and development, the association has gradually affirmed its position as a reputable scientific organisation, a channel for people-to-people diplomacy, and an academic networking platform.

It has contributed to advancing Southeast Asian studies, strengthening academic exchanges, promoting international cooperation, and enhancing Viet Nam’s image across ASEAN and the wider world.

The National Assembly Vice Chairwoman called on the association, along with scientists and entrepreneurs, to further strengthen its role in connecting the “intellectual capital” of researchers with the “resources” of the business community.

In particular, she stressed the need for the association to capitalise on the initiative and flexibility afforded by its non-public model in order to mobilise social resources, expand international cooperation, and promote people-to-people diplomacy.

She also underscored the importance of establishing mechanisms to identify, nurture, and empower young intellectuals, young scientists, and innovative entrepreneurs while creating favourable conditions for them to spread their wings, access global knowledge, and make long-term contributions to the country’s development.
