This is one of a series of events held to mark the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 –2025), organised by the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace.
The exhibition features nearly 300 valuable images and documents collected from archives, museums, relic sites, libraries, news agencies, and press outlets in Viet Nam and abroad.
The event has a four-part structure, including President Ho Chi Minh: A figure who marked the century; President Ho Chi Minh: A symbol of national essence and dignity; Ho Chi Minh in the hearts of international friends and the enduring legacy of Ho Chi Minh shining in the new era of Viet Nam’s development. It vividly depicts the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, closely linked to the culture, morality, and revolutionary spirit of the Vietnamese people and international friends.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le Thi Phuong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, stated that organising the exhibition holds profound significance.
She emphasised that the exhibition provides an opportunity for officials, Party members, and the public to gain a deeper understanding of President Ho Chi Minh’s great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese nation, as well as to the communist and international workers’ movement.
Alongside the national exhibition, the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site is also holding commemorative events for President Ho Chi Minh’s 135th birth anniversary.
Notably, an exhibition of 135 documentary photos taken at the Presidential Palace from 1954 to 1969 captures authentic and vivid moments of President Ho Chi Minh’s activities during his final 15 years – the longest period he stayed in one place in his lifetime of 79 springs.
In addition, the site has launched a Storytelling Artefacts Room and a thematic exhibition entitled “Uncle Ho with the South – The South with Uncle Ho”. The display comprises two main parts: Uncle Ho’s longing for the South, a longing for home; The South’s longing for Uncle Ho, a longing for a father figure.
On this occasion, the book “135 Stories about Uncle Ho” was also introduced. The book features 135 simple yet profound real-life stories, drawn from the memories of officials, soldiers, and citizens who had the honour of living, working, and learning alongside President Ho Chi Minh between 1954 and 1969.
Moreover, the site has opened a book display room on President Ho Chi Minh, launched a heritage education programme for students, and implemented digital transformation measures, including QR codes for landmarks throughout the relic site.
On the same day, the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang launched a photo contest themed “Da Nang People – Diligence, Frugality, Integrity, Righteousness, and Impartiality”.
