Nguyen Sieu Private School celebrates 25th anniversary

The Nguyen Sieu Private School held a grand ceremony in Hanoi on November 24 to mark its 25th anniversary in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung.

The ceremony was also attended by former Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and the Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs Cao Duc Phat, along with a number of leaders of ministries and departments.

On behalf of the Party and Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung presented the emulation flag of the Government to teachers and students of Nguyen Sieu Private School.

The Nguyen Sieu school system includes a primary school, a secondary school and a high school. Starting with just five classes and 132 students some 25 years ago, Nguyen Sieu school now has 91 classes and nearly 2,500 students.

Overcoming many difficulties to establish the school, Nguyen Sieu school has attained several honourable titles and prizes, including the National Standard School - High Quality School - Cambridge International School; Achievement Award for the Contribution of its Workforce; Certificate of Merit and Emulation Flag of the People's Committee of Hanoi and the Minister of Education and Training; Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister; the Second and the Third Labour Medal of the President. It was the first Vietnamese school authorized by the UK’s Cambridge University to conduct international training programs.

Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung praised efforts by the school’s teachers, staff and students for their great contributions over the past 25 years.

He asked them to continue their efforts to attain further achievements, and encouraged school staff to improve their professional skills and teaching methods, while setting a good example of morality and self-study for students to follow.
