The annual event, regarded as one of Viet Nam’s most anticipated cultural celebrations, continues to renew its format and raise artistic standards.
In the category of Most Favourite Political-Themed Art Programme, the concert ‘To quoc trong tim’ (Fatherland in Our Hearts), organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ha Noi People’s Committee, was honoured alongside ‘Spring in Ho Chi Minh City – Entering a New Era’, produced by Ho Chi Minh City Television.
Staged to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of Viet Nam, Fatherland in Our Hearts became a defining highlight of contemporary political art. The concert attracted more than 50,000 spectators at My Dinh Stadium and millions of online viewers. On TikTok alone, nearly 18,000 related videos generated over 500 million views within two days, setting a new record for a political art programme.
The show brought together leading artists and outstanding athletes, conveying messages of unity, resilience and devotion to the nation. Classic songs were reimagined in a modern musical language, evoking national pride. One of the most moving moments saw tens of thousands of spectators stand and sing the national anthem beneath the national flag.
The 31st Mai Vang Awards introduced three new categories, including Music Video of the Year, Singer of the Year, and Artist Contributing to the Development of Viet Nam’s Cultural Industry. Special honours were also presented to artists recognised for lifetime contributions and community engagement.
With its carefully structured narrative, blending awards, performances and visual storytelling, the ceremony once again affirmed the Mai Vang Awards as a true cultural festival celebrating creativity, dedication and national pride at the start of the new year.
At the event, the organising committee also awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper in recognition of its outstanding contribution to organising the Mai Vang Awards and promoting cultural industries in Ho Chi Minh City.
