On the evening of January 16, the Tay Ho District People’s Committee inaugurated the “Spring Flower Festival and Regional OCOP Products – Spring 2025” and announced the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’s decision to recognise “folk knowledge and traditional craft – Nhat Tan peach cultivation” as an intangible cultural heritage.
Speaking at the event, Tay Ho District Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khuyen emphasised, that the festival, held from January 16 to 20, serves as a key agricultural trade promotion event ahead of Tet. It showcases flowers, ornamental plants, and OCOP products, meeting the needs of both residents and tourists in Hanoi.
The festival features 100 notable businesses from Tay Ho and other districts, promoting agricultural products, processed foods, handicrafts, and traditional village items. The event aims to preserve traditional crafts, boost local brands, stimulate consumer demand, and enhance Hanoi’s agricultural economic growth.
Nearly 100 gardening artisans participate in the “Quintessential Art of Kumquat and Peach Trees” competition, highlighting efforts to restore traditional crafts, such as cultivating Nhat Tan peach and Tu Lien kumquat.
The festival allows artisans to display high-quality artistic creations, preserving and promoting the cultural and agricultural heritage of Tay Ho’s renowned traditional villages.
During the ceremony, residents of Tay Ho District and Nhat Tan Ward received the Ministry’s recognition of Nhat Tan peach cultivation as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
