New Era Cold Storage (NECS) Joint Stock Company held the inauguration ceremony of the New Era Cold Storage facility, marking the company’s fifth anniversary.
The event marked a significant milestone in NECS Joint Stock Company’s development journey, from a high-tech cold storage provider to a comprehensive logistics ecosystem serving Viet Nam’s food and seafood supply chains.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Hoang Hai, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of NECS, said the facility is among the largest automated and intelligent cold warehouses in Southeast Asia, with a capacity of 110,000 pallets. It offers comprehensive financial and logistics solutions for import–export enterprises and meets international standards such as ISO, EDGE, MSC/ASC and EU codes.
The facility is also the first digital bonded cold warehouse to be approved by the Customs authority, enabling fast, convenient and cost-effective bonded services to be provided on site.
Accordingly, NECS has been built as a fully automated facility operating in deep sub-zero conditions, with robotic systems and smart racking managed through data-driven processes and optimisation algorithms. The entire workflow, from booking and cargo in-and-out operations to inventory tracking, temperature management and batch history traceability, is operated on a digital platform integrating IoT and artificial intelligence.
In addition to storage, NECS provides a range of value-added services, including sorting and grading, packaging and labelling, order-based inventory counting, transshipment to seaports, and handling import–export documentation.
All services are managed on a unified platform, allowing customers to track shipments in real time and control the entire logistics journey, from cold storage, bonded warehouses and distribution centres to international seaports, thereby helping to elevate Viet Nam’s supply chains.
At the same time, NECS has partnered with banks to implement financial support models for enterprises, enabling companies to use goods stored in the warehouse as collateral. The digital management system ensures data transparency, direct connectivity with banks and reduced risk, thereby accelerating disbursement and sustaining production, in line with green finance and agricultural finance orientations.
Located at the western gateway, adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City and directly connected to major southern seaport clusters, the strategic location enables NECS to serve both as a convenient “outbound gate” for goods from raw material areas and a flexible “inbound gate” for imported goods distributed back into the region. This shortens transport routes, optimises costs and enhances time advantages for businesses in global competition.
With international-standard infrastructure, advanced technological capacity and a long-term vision, NECS not only addresses current demands but also lays a sustainable foundation for Viet Nam’s agriculture and fisheries sectors to make a breakthrough in the New Era, further reinforcing the position of the Mekong Delta, the Southwest and the Southeast regions on the global food and agri-product map.
