The Embassy in Singapore welcomed dozens of Vietnamese families and their children, who joined in folk games, lion dances, and lantern shows.
A talent show and a painting competition were also held for the young expats to learn about the traditional values, language and culture of their homeland.
Meanwhile in Malaysia, the Vietnamese Women’s Club hosted a similar event for Vietnamese children.
Ambassador to Malaysia Pham Cao Phong expressed hope that Vietnamese youth in Malaysia would continue learning Vietnamese language, as a way to preserve their national identity.
Participating children took part in traditional games, and enjoyed home-made moon-cakes.
