Speaking with a correspondent of Nhan Dan Newspaper in Thailand, Nguyen Van Xuyen, Head of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand, emphasised that the 14th National Party Congress took place in the context of 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal), at a time when Viet Nam is facing both significant opportunities and challenges in a new era.

He said that the 14th National Party Congress plays the role of reviewing practical experience, defining strategic vision, and setting out long-term development orientations for the country, while deciding major guidelines and policies aimed at rapid and sustainable development, placing people at the centre and enhancing Viet Nam’s international standing.

From an ideological perspective, the 14th National Party Congress continues to affirm and creatively apply Ho Chi Minh Thought, strengthening the confidence of the people at home and abroad, while creating momentum for Viet Nam’s cultural activities and people-to-people diplomacy in the region and around the world.

According to Nguyen Van Xuyen, from the viewpoint of a cultural and historical institution overseas, the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom Province recognises that the 14th National Party Congress is not only significant for the country domestically but also provides spiritual impetus and common orientation for activities to preserve and spread Viet Nam’s historical, cultural, and people-to-people diplomatic values in the region and globally, including in Thailand and the Mekong Subregion.

As part of the Vietnamese community in Thailand, Nguyen Van Xuyen, together with overseas Vietnamese in Nakhon Phanom Province, hoped that the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress will continue to give comprehensive, practical, and long-term attention to overseas Vietnamese.

He expressed the hope that the Resolution will more strongly affirm the role of overseas Vietnamese as an important resource, not only in economic terms but also in knowledge, culture, people-to-people diplomacy, and international connectivity.

He also wished that the Party and State will focus on improving mechanisms and policies to protect the legitimate rights and interests of overseas Vietnamese, create favourable conditions for them to stabilise their lives and integrate well into host societies, while maintaining a close and lasting bond with the homeland.

In his position as Head of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom Province, Nguyen Van Xuyen showed his belief that the Party and State will strengthen policies to preserve cultural identity, the Vietnamese language, and education on historical traditions and Ho Chi Minh Thought for young overseas Vietnamese generations, thereby consolidating spiritual foundations and continuity between generations.

He expressed his expectation that the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress will continue to promote people-to-people diplomacy and the proactive participation of overseas Vietnamese in promoting the image of Viet Nam, contributing positively to friendly relations between Viet Nam and other countries.

With the desire to contribute to promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, Nguyen Van Xuyen affirmed that he will continue, together with the collective of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom Province, to preserve, honour, and spread the values of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, ethics, and legacy in Thailand, thereby strengthening spiritual foundations, inspiring national pride, and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the Fatherland within the overseas Vietnamese community.

He also asserted his continued contribution to connecting the Vietnamese community in Thailand with the homeland, especially younger generations, through cultural and educational activities, exchanges with historical witnesses, and people-to-people diplomacy, with the aim of strengthening bonds, consensus, and confidence in the country’s development path.

The Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom Province will strive to promote people-to-people diplomacy, promote the image of a peaceful, renewing, and integrating Viet Nam, and contribute to strengthening Viet Nam–Thailand friendship and regional cooperation.

Nguyen Van Xuyen expressed his belief that, through persistent and concrete contributions in the fields of culture, history, and community, every Vietnamese person at home and abroad can join hands to promote the strength of great national unity, helping Viet Nam move forward steadily and strongly in the new era and successfully achieve development goals to 2030 and 2045.
