As part of the programme, a range of activities took place, including cultural performances, stage plays, recognition of exemplary individuals and collectives, and the presentation of gifts to beneficiary families under preferential policies.
Addressing the festival, Trinh Van Quyet stressed that the Prime Minister's decision to designate August 19 each year as the All People Protecting National Security Festival affirmed the particularly important role of the people in safeguarding national security.
He noted that, in meeting the requirements of protecting national security in the new context, security must be safeguarded early, from afar and, most importantly, "from the roots". Those roots, he said, are the people's hearts, every village, residential quarter and each family.
Trinh Van Quyet called on Party committees and authorities at all levels in Gia Lai Province and Hoai Nhon Bac Ward to continue thoroughly implementing the Party's resolutions and guidelines, remain close to the grassroots and listen to the legitimate aspirations of the people.
He also stressed that the All People Protecting National Security movement should be regarded as a key and long-term task, closely linked with socio-economic development and efforts to improve people's material and spiritual lives, especially for beneficiary families under preferential policies, vulnerable groups and ethnic minority communities.
Regarding implementation, he called for renewed public communication tailored to local conditions, wider replication of community-based self-governance, self-protection and self-mediation models to resolve disputes at an early stage, while proactively strengthening the public's resilience in cyberspace and countering false and hostile viewpoints.
For the People's Public Security force, he called for continued efforts to build a force that is truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern, maintain a firm grasp of local conditions, proactively prevent potential hotspots, and ensure that every officer and soldier remains "close to the people, respectful of the people, understanding of the people and responsible to the people".
On behalf of the local Party organisation, authorities and people, Tran Huu Thao, Secretary of the Hoai Nhon Bac Ward Party Committee and Chairman of the ward People's Council, expressed appreciation for the guidance provided by Trinh Van Quyet. He also launched a peak emulation campaign aimed at making Hoai Nhon Bac a "drug-free ward" by 2027.
