The 50-bed hospital was built in a year at a cost of nearly VND 23.3 billion. The FHF organisation contributed US$510,000 (around VND 10 billion) and the remainder of the funds were raised from the province's budget.
The Phu Yen Health Department will continue to overlook the purchase of suitable equipment for the hospital to ensure the quality of the examination and treatment work undertaken as well as guiding the Eye Hospital to strengthen co-operation with international organisations and central specialist hospitals in the fields of professional support, technology transfer, diagnosis and treatment, etc.
The Phu Yen Eye Hospital is a project constructed in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the province's founding and development.
