PM requests to review and address shortcomings in current laws

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested ministries, sectors and localities to review and make proposals to amend and supplement shortcomings in current laws.

In a recent document, the Prime Minister asked ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, Secretaries of municipal and provincial Party Committees, Chairmen of municipal and provincial People’s Committees, and local authorities, to conduct a thorough review of regulations in current laws and ordinances, to detect any regulatory overlap and shortcomings, thus proposing feasible solutions to address the problems.

The Government leader also demanded to review regulations on the authority of all levels, to eliminate unnecessary intermediaries and procedures in considering and deciding economic and social issues, production and business activities, and people’s life.

In addition, the leaders of ministries and authorities were asked to spend time directly directing the implementation of the above tasks on schedule, and submit their reports and recommendations to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Justice and the Government Office, no later than August 10.

The Minister of Justice was assigned to collect the reports of ministries and localities and send the summary report to the Government before August 15.
