Accordingly, over the past 23 years, Duat and his family have not only willingly donated their blood, but also mobilised more than 1,000 people to donate more than 1,000 units of blood, thus contributing to saving the lives of thousands of patients.

In his letter, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasised the drops of blood donated by Duat, his family members, and other donors, have inspired kindness, compassion, love and responsibility within the community.

Duat’s service has also affirmed the role and qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, Vietnamese veterans and the elderly, he added.
