Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Chairman of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), emphasised that in recent years, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence have led and directed the entire army to effectively carry out mass mobilisation work, including mass mobilisation work in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Army officers and soldiers are always closely attached to the people, actively participating in building strong local political bases, building new style rural areas, and consolidating national defence and security.
He affirmed that the 35 collectives and 80 individuals recognised as typical examples are the most vivid and convincing evidence of the Army’s affection and responsibility towards ethnic minorities, as well as the people of the whole country in general.
He noted that these achievements continue to affirm that the Army comes from the people, fights for the people, the people are the foundation, the source of the Army’s strength, and the motivation for officers and soldiers to promote the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
On the occasion, Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang and Chairman of the General Department of Politics under the VPA Trinh Van Quyet presented certificates of merit to representatives of 35 outstanding collectives.
