This year’s event will bring together more than 200 participants representing 18 ethnic groups, including Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Raglai, E De, Khmer án Kinh. The artisans and community performers participating in the second Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival will also participate in the week.
Through vibrant exchanges in culture, sports, and tourism rich in national identity, the Great Solidarity of Ethnic Groups – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Week has become a grand celebration marking Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23). The event honours the rich cultural treasures of the 54 ethnic groups while reaffirming the enduring spirit of great national solidarity forged over thousands of years of national construction and defence.

Within the framework of the event, a range of diverse and fascinating programmes will be held, including: the opening ceremony of the week in conjunction with the second Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival 2025; a scientific seminar on “preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in connection with tourism development”; programmes introducing Vietnamese culture to international friends at the “Common House” of the village; the Great National Solidarity Day; and a series entitled “Colours of Festive Culture” featuring folk performances, cultural exchanges, and showcases of the distinctive cultural beauty of ethnic groups.
The event serves as an opportunity to promote the image of a friendly and hospitable Viet Nam, while raising public awareness of the importance of heritage preservation. It also encourages community engagement in conserving, innovating, and integrating traditional values into modern life.
Through cultural experiences and culinary enjoyment, both domestic and international visitors will gain a vivid understanding of the daily life, customs, and beliefs of Viet Nam’s diverse ethnic groups.
The event not only honours the unique cultural identities of all 54 ethnic groups but also contributes to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity. It helps strengthen regional cooperation in heritage preservation, tourism development, and the promotion of Viet Nam’s image to the world.
