Speaking at the event, Ministry of Public Security – General To Lam stressed that over the past 98 years, the Vietnamese Revolutionary press has constantly developed, establishing itself as the Party’s reliable force and a sharp “weapon” on the ideological-cultural front.

He also hailed the Vietnamese press’s great contributions to the cause of the national liberation and unification as well as in the national construction and defence.

He asked journalists, reporters, and journalism staff to ensure they are fully aware of the position, role, and task of the Vietnamese Revolutionary press, thus making greater efforts to better serve as the voice of the Party, State, and socio-political organisations and as a trusted forum for people of all walks of life.

For his part, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Le Quoc Minh, who is also Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission of Communication and Education, and Chairman of Vietnam Journalists’ Association, expressed his hope that the Public Security Ministry and press agencies will tighten cooperation, contributing to the cause of national protection.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Communications launched a press contest themed ‘For national security and peaceful life of people’.

The contest is open to journalists at press agencies across the country, who are encouraged to write articles promoting the image of people’s police force.
