To prepare for the competition, the centre has invested in a 30 metre partly-artificial climbing route, the highest route to be climbed in Vietnam to date, at Hang Toi (Dark Cave). The route was designed and built by EVERREST Viet Company, an experienced climbing service provider.
After the competition, the climb will serve the demands of tourists as a leading attraction in the area.
Dark Cave is part of tours to the Chay River and the World Heritage site Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, luring local and international tourists with such attractions as zip-lining and cave mud-bathing.
Located in Bo Trach district, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park covers 85,754 hectares with a 195,400-hectare buffer zone. It is among the 238 most important ecological zones in the world.
The park won UNESCO heritage recognition in 2003 thanks to its system of 300 different caves and grottos which date back some 400 million years.
