RoK – potential tourism market of Da Nang

Da Nang wishes to soon recover the Republic of Korea (RoK) tourist market, especially regarding MICE tourism, high-class beach resorts, and golf tourism, with the aim to receive RoK arrivals to Da Nang in numbers as high as before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The information was shared during a working visit to the RoK by a delegation from Da Nang Municipal People's Committee led by Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son from October 4-6.

Speaking at a working session with RoK travel companies Mode Tour and Hana Tour, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee Tran Phuoc Son said that the RoK’s removal of COVID-19 testing by PCR method within 24 hours of arrival in the RoK is a favourable condition for RoK people and tourists to go travelling.

Da Nang aims to become a centre of high-quality tourism, focusing on attracting high-quality tourists, especially MICE, golf and resort visitors. The city will continue to improve its tourism infrastructure, facilitate the organisation of international tourism festivals, create new tourism products, and improve the experience of RoK tourists in Da Nang.

Da Nang also proposed that Mode Tour and Hana Tour support the promotion of Da Nang tourism on social networking channels in the RoK and introduce new tourism products and services of Da Nang to RoK travel agents.

Head of Mode Tour Product Management Board, Lee Woo Yeon emphasised that Da Nang is a favourite destination of RoK tourists and he was committed to continuing to support Da Nang’s tourism promotion activities in the RoK. Mode Tour has set the target of recovering 70% of the number of RoK visitors to Da Nang in 2023 compared to that in 2019.
