Meeting with Most Venerable Thich Thien Duyen, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Patronage Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), the VFF leader lauded contributions made by VBS, especially the provincial VBS chapter, to national development over recent years.
The Buddhist Sangha in Quang Nam has actively responded to activities launched by the VFF, including building new-style rural areas, offering children help to go to school, and taking care of the poor and disadvantaged, he noted.
The VFF President wished that with his prestige, Most Venerable Thich ThienDuyen will continue working for the great national unity and calling on monks, nuns and Buddhist followers to contribute to accomplishing socio-economic development goals.
On the occasion, he presented gifts to the Most Venerable and Buddhist followers at the pagoda.
The VFF leader also presented five social houses to needy and beneficiary families in Tam Ky city.
