Winners of press contest on 75th anniversary of National Assembly honoured

A total of 43 prizes were presented to best entries in the press contest on the 75th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 4.

The contest, the second of its kind, was jointly held by the NA Office and the Vietnam Journalist Association.

It aimed to raise the role of the press in popularising the operation of legislature while providing timely reports on voters’ opinions and aspirations to the NA.

According to Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the contest drew nearly 500 entries from 51 press agencies across the country in the categories of printing, online, television, radiobroadcast, and photojournalism.

The entries covered assorted topics relating to activities of the legislature and NA deputies, as well as aspirations and proposals of voters and people nationwide.

Within the ceremony, the organising board presented four A, nine B, 13 C, and 17 consolation prizes to outstanding entrants.

Journalists from the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper won one C and two consolation prizes.
