Northwest and central regions face hot weather with temperatures over 39C

The northwestern and central regions in Vietnam are facing hot weather with intense heat and highest temperatures exceeding 39C in some places.

The average temperatures in the northwestern and central regions are about 35-38C today (April 23). The heat wave is forecast to span until April 25.

Meanwhile, northeastern provinces will brave local heat from April 24, with highest temperatures climbing over35C and about 12-17 hours per day of temperatures over 35C.

Today, UV index is forecast to have a very high risk of harm in northern, central and southern provinces, particularly in Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho.

Warnings of the risk of fire in residential areas and forest fires in central provinces have been issued due to intense heat combined with low humidity and southwest wind.

Hanoi’s highest temperatures today are forecast to range between 32-34C with showers and thunderstorms in several places in the evening.
