The festival is a unique tourism event in Ho Chi Minh City, held during the summer since 2004.
Aiming to become an international festival, this year’s Southern Fruit Festival is being held on a large scale, along with many cultural activities to introduce the diversity of Vietnamese fruits.
Through the festival, the organisers wish to honour achievements in agricultural production, promote Vietnamese cuisine and culture, and enhance the friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
The most anticipated activity of the festival is the fruit market, where various types of fresh early-season fruits and OCOP products are sold at huge discounts.
The festival also features a contest for artisans to create unique artworks from fruits.
In addition, an event will be held to inaugurate the “Friendship Orchard” at the Suoi Tien Amusement Park, with the participation of 27 countries’ consulates.
