Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong noted that the issuance of the stamp is not only a culturally significant event but also an important political and social activity to honour and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, the founder of Viet Nam’s revolutionary press, along with generations of journalists who have devoted, fought, and sacrificed for the revolutionary cause, national independence, and the people’s happiness.
“The stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (1925–2025) is not only a valuable philatelic issue but also a meaningful piece of graphic art. It serves as a profound cultural message, honouring historical values while affirming the future vision of Vietnamese press,” Phuong emphasised.
The stamp design masterfully blends clear illustrative style with symbolic elements that convey strong messages, all within a harmonious colour palette and well-balanced composition. Every feature is meticulously arranged, contributing to a highly meaningful artistic work.
Deputy Minister Phuong elaborated: “At the heart of the stamp is the vivid red Vietnamese national flag, with a golden five-pointed star in the centre, depicted like a flowing ribbon to symbolise the eternal spirit of the nation.
To the left of the flag is a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, the founding father and guiding light of Viet Nam’s revolutionary press. On the right, a pen, the noble symbol of journalists, writes the glorious chapters of Vietnamese press history. The bold golden inscription ‘1925–2025’ on a red background clearly marks the centenary of the revolutionary press.”
A distinctive and modern touch is the blue background, embedded with binary code, representing the digital age and the future trajectory of journalism. With its sharp illustration, harmonious colours, and balanced layout, the stamp embodies a powerful message of the continuous evolution of Viet Nam’s revolutionary press.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Science and Technology also presented the Viet Nam Journalists Association with a framed print of the commemorative stamp celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (1925–2025).
