The programme was initiated based on a cooperation agreement on tourism development among six provinces in the northern region (Viet Bac), namely Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, and Lang Son.

In his opening speech, Pham Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Kan Province, emphasised that this is the 15th year in which the programme has been held, helping to create a unique tourism brand of the six Viet Bac provinces. The programme aims to convey a message of creating safe, friendly and attractive destinations for tourists while contributing to realising the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy until 2030.

Various activities will take place during the programme, including: an open mountain bike race, an OCOP product and culinary festival of the six Viet Bac provinces, an on-site tour guide competition, and the signing of a comprehensive agreement on tourism communication between the six Viet Bac provinces and Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Magazine.

Moreover, Song Cau Walking Street in Bac Kan City will be launched on the occasion. A music and fashion show and the performance of intangible cultural heritages of Bac Kan will be included in the programme.

Tourists can also participate in experiencing diverse activities, such as hot air balloons, paragliding, kayaking, folk games, etc.

The programme will conclude on August 28.
