The project, scheduled to be completed in 2014, will move 397 households to a 40-hectare resettlement area complete with full infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems and water and power supply networks.
Quang Cong commune has suffered badly from coastal erosion in recent years but only a small number of households have been relocated to new areas.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Le Truong Luu, said there are nearly 1,000 households in the province inhabiting areas seriously affected by coastal erosion.
