The main host venue of the festival is Van Nien Phong Cung, also known as Ong Bon Pagoda, which greets thousands of locals and visitors who come to pray for peace, luck, and well-being.

The festival features various activities including worshipping rituals, a street parade, a ceremony to pray for peace, and assorted cultural and arts events.

Hundreds of gifts are also presented to poor households and disadvantaged people in Cau Ke District on the occasion.

The traditional festival has been observed annually for the past more than 100 years by local ethnic communities in Cau Ke District. It aims to express gratitude to the ancestors and strengthen solidarity in the community.

The festival has been recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
