During their recent training session in Japan, the squad had three matches against teams from Kaisenkan High School, U18 Honda FC, and Tokoha University.
Previously, the Vietnamese players had opportunities to get their skills sharpened at a training session in Qatar, during which they had two friendly matches against U17 Laos and U17 Qatar.
The team is scheduled to face U17 Yemen in a match to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 10. The match is considered a rehearsal for the team before coach Hoang Anh Tuan announces the official list of 23 players, for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2023 finals.
They will head to Thailand on June 14 for the tournament. Topping Group F of the qualifiers, Vietnam is in Group D of the finals, together with strong rivals – defending champions Japan, India and Uzbekistan. The finals will take place from June 15 to July 2.
